Welcome to the fascinating
world of canvas making. We are carrying a proud family tradition that
began in 1834 in New York City. Although
the business may have changed through the years, the principles have always
remained the same; to produce the highest quality marine canvas products
possible. I believe it shows in our work. It shows in our
pride. And it shows throughout our family history.

Be sure to look around. Get some ideas as how
we can improve the appearance of your boat and
make your boat more comfortable for you and your family. Be sure to check
out the history and news pages.

What's New:
10-22-05 -
There is an open house this weekend at
Star Island Yacht Sales here in Freeport featuring a hand-crafted
26' Back Cove rigged with our finest
quality marine canvas. 1" stainless steel, .040 optical clear vinyl and
more went into this fantastic craft.
8-23-05 -
It's our pleasure to present this classic 31'
Bertram in perfect condition.
8-22-05 -
We haven't uploaded a recent broad-box enclosure in a few weeks so here's a
good one. A new 29' Pursuit.
She's quite a beamy craft.
5-22-05 -
A long overdue posting but here was this
year's first boat. A very well maintained
24' Shamrock. This was a very custom
job as all zipper openings around the windshield were sealed with flaps and
Velcro(R). Also special insulation was sewn in around the hem of the
windows to prevent water from ever getting in.
11-28-04 -
I thought this last yacht we finished was worth the extra effort to upload to
this site. For your viewing pleasure, we have a
43' Golden Egg Harbor hard top.
We also have about 50 more boats to
upload so I guess we'll have a fun winter getting you ready for next season.
9-3-04 -
A fantastic 53' Navigator was just
rigged by us before being shipped to the U.K. See how we show our American
pride and quality at it's finest.
8-31-04 -
260 Wellcraft boat for sale. We
made the canvas as if rigging the QE II. Nothing but the best went into
this boat. 1" .065 wall Stainless Steel, .030 Optical clear vinyl windows,
and special water-proof topping. BTW... The rest of the boat is
constructed the same way. Click
here to read the survey report. FOR ANYONE INTEREST... THIS BOAT
IS A KEEPER.
8-31-04 -
This update shows the spacious the 372
Chris Craft. There is a huge amount of canvas on this boat and I think
it's easy to see why finding the right canvas specialists is very important.
The owner of this vessel is also an inventor. He has developed a non-slip
tool caddy that is amazing. I will post more info on this page when
available.
4-11-04 - We will be
trying to upload our latest designs as quickly as we can. We currently
have a backlog of 20 or 30 boats and are producing new designs for other boats
at a rapid rate. We'll upload pictures of the boats first with
descriptions to follow.
4-11-04 -
The last upload for tonight will be this 1998
Stamas 288 Liberty which we have been servicing since it was brand new.
We rebuilt the enclosure and added a cockpit awning to address the concerns of
the owner (particullary in how it folds).
4-11-04 -
Here is another challenging canvas design we
tailored to the customer's needs. He
happens to be a veteran seaman working as a consultant for FEMA, a professor for
SUNY, and a captain on Sea Tow's fleet.
4-11-04 -
Happy Easter. This was our fist boat of the season. It's our
pleasure to present this classic Wellcraft V20
outfitted with the finest canvas package available. All the finest
materials were used and all design concerns were addressed.
4-6-04 - We are long overdue
for an update. We are uploading new pictures this week for a major update
on Easter Sunday. See you then :)
10-19-03 -
This was the last of the three BIG jobs recently completed. There were two
lace-on tops involved, a cockpit awning, and full fly-bridge enclosure on this
very tall 50' Bertram.
We're also planning to add a beautiful
41' Matthews to our classics sections. We have extensive experience with
crafts from this era and will share some of the important little details with
you in the next couple of weeks.
10-6-03 -
Champion Sailmakers was recently contacted by the government to design and build
a better soft door for the Global Electric
Motorcar (GEM) E825 electric vehicle. These cars are very popular and
found all over the place. Designer, Scott Southard has come up with the
perfect design considering a balance between style and function. These
doors are now available for a limited time at a reduced price at
www.gemcardoors.com or can be ordered
direct from us. If you own one of these cars, you should consider these
doors.
9-22-03 -
A couple of weeks ago we completed the second of involved projects. This
was the aft section on a very nice 35' CABO.
It was challenging to integrate a drop curtain to existing sides and have it
look consistent. Have a look to see how we did it.
The third major project was completed
last week. It is an incredible 50' Bertram with full Tuna Tower. We
will add it shortly.
A special thank you goes out to
everyone who has searched Yahoo for Long
Island marine canvas. We now rank number 1 on the search list.
Finally, we're expanding into a new
area. We have a new product coming out that has had an overwhelming
response. Details will be posted in the next week or two.
8-17-03 -
To explain why we are so behind with our updates and descriptions, we present
one of our three major projects we are currently working on. The other two
should be completed within the next couple of weeks. We completed this
beautiful 2003 57' Navigator on Thursday. We
paid careful attention to every detail on this yacht. I hope you enjoy.
