27' sea ray
|
Here we have another example of a 1980's Sea Ray. This particular craft was recently purchased for restoration. The boat came into our facility with a poorly designed top, side curtains, and an equally poorly designed camper top. Although the forward top frame was stainless steel, it was in fact made from the thin-wall .049 wall tubing. This wall stainless steel is very thin and the result in this case was a very racked frame beyond repair. We replaced this damage frame with a heavy-wall (.065) aluminum 4-bow aluminum frame. This light weight frame is very strong and economical. The camper frame was also made from thin-wall stainless steel but was in salvageable condition.
The 'canvas' is made from the new Sunbrella(R) color called "Linen Tweed". This color is very popular with Sea Ray boats. The enclosure is made from a hand-picked batch of .020 clear vinyl. These clear vinyl widows are about as clear as it gets from type of 'glass'. The camper enclosure was made with clear vinyl flaps over the screens instead of privacy flaps upon customers request.
