40' Silverton
|
Above we have a 1988 44' Silverton outfitted with a new fly-bridge enclosure. Only the frame used from the original enclosure. The top was made out of Sunbrella's(R) vinyl-back acrylic fabric. Optical, pressed and polished sheet clear vinyl was used because of its superior characteristics. When we began construction of this canvas, we found that the straight leg members of the frame were badly 'bowed' from age. This caused the top to sag giving a much lower headroom. At out facility, we first put the frame through our bending jig to restore the original shape. When the top when back on the boat, we were pleased to discover that the top fit snugly just below the radar arch; as it should. From there, we just kept the lines as clean as possible. WOW! It's amazing how big this vessel looks not that it has a properly designed and proportionate canvas. The owner's friend watches and admires the new look of his boat.
