Clear Front Top

Above is a 1990, 288 Stamas Liberty with a navy top that has an integrated clear front. The front on this top is not removable and therefore get categorized as a navy top style. Each section on this top does roll up with convenient straps. The main advantage of this style of canvas is looks. With a boat with very 'square' lines, a connector off a bimini wouldn't look as good. As you can see, the rake of the windshield was matched as well as the size and position of the clear sections. This ingredient was essential for this very successful design. Other key features on this canvas set include a 'seamless' design. Instead of having a seam run down the center of the top, the cloths were cut perpendicular to the length creating a seamless look. Having extra snaps to hold the rool-up staps out of the way shows just how finely detailed this package really is. History of this boat.... Dozens of these boats were brought up from the Stamas factory without canvas with the sole intent to have Champion Sailmakers enhance the design of the boat. The reason is because the factory design had a very high bimini top which was out of proportion to the boat. Also, the fact that the front connector did not follow the rake of the windshield added to the awkwardness of the canvas package. Further in regard to the front connector was that it was made in one piece making it impossible to open a section for ventilation.
