Sprayhoods
|
The above Mako boat shows an example of how a sprayhood offers terrific protection on a center console boat. What is a sprayhood? A sprayhood is sometimes inaccurately called a dodger. It's the folding shelter located at the bow. Champion Sailmakers is a very large producer of sprayhoods. They are carefully designed and tailored to each individual boat. Design is the first step. They are designed so that they are high enough to sit under it and low enough to see over it when standing at the helm. Sitting at the helm, the driver is looking through a window in the front of the sprayhood. This window also zips open for ventilation and to have quick access to the anchor. The length of the sprayhood should not interfere with movement around the center console. When folded, it is stores completely out of the way. A boot is included that covers the sprayhood when it's folded. An optional privacy drop curtain (not shown) can be zippered to the back of the sprayhood to provide a privet area on this open boat. It is in this private area where a porta-potty is usually installed. GUYS... Your wives will like this feature ; ) Check out the links on the left of this page to see more examples of our sprayhoods.
