The Ben~N~Jerry Boat
KEEPING ALIVE A TRADITION THAT WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1834

The boat above was brought to my dock with the worst canvas that I can remember.  The front connector went from the front of the top to the windshield, an angle went contrarily to the windshield.  The fit was poor.  The material was badly shrunken.  In a nutshell, the boat look ugly.

Leaving the welded framework intact, we removed the old canvas.  Aluminum curtain track was installed on the second rib from the front.  A new top was made in a removable fashion to fit this frame.  The clear front connector was then made to match the size and shape of the windshield of the boat.  New side curtains were then made to fit the new top and front curtains.  A drop curtain was never ordered.

Navy blue Sunbrella(R) fabric was used as well as .030 optical clear vinyl.  These are the recommended fabrics for a long lasting enclosure.

We call this boat Ben~N~Jerry because we were told that the boat belonged to one of the founders of Ben N Jerry ice cream.
